A Musical Journey

My first birth chart reading 35 years ago was with a well-known astrologer who told me, “You were a court musician in Atlantis!” I asked, “Atlantis?” and she responded, “Uh huh”.

Well, I am still a bit fuzzy on the whole Atlantis thing, but it certainly does feel like music has been constant companion in my life, both in past lives and in this life.

In this life, some of my favorite memories are of occasionally being asked to join The Irish Brigade on stage in Saint Paul and playing a short mix of Beatles and Irish classics.

My “songbook” is filled with soulful songs and lyrics by my musical heroes, John Lennon, George Harrison, Justin Hayward and the Moody Blues, and Christy Moore.

Songs From the Traveler’s Well is a small collection of songs by my heroes and a few of my own songs, which are poetic musings on my own travels, my journey in life. You could say, these are musical postcards that accompanied our travels.

Astrological Door

Wandering the side streets of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, we encountered this outstanding door with all 12 signs of the zodiac represented. An unexpected treasure!

All That You Can't Leave Behind

After being in Germany about 15 months and feeling a bit exhausted from rebuilding our home, we decided to gather together all of the things that had been with us since we met in 1990. We gathered up a small, but precious collection of items. Beyond this, we basically left everything behind! Sometimes we need to leave a lot behind in order to move forward!

Grow Old Along With Me

On a trip to Europe in 2003, we stopped by the small town of Dinkelsbuehl in Germany. We encountered this lovely couple. By this time, we were already enchanted by life in Europe and we said 'that is what we want to be like at their age'. This picture came to represent our goal of moving to Europe!

Apollo at the Grand Canal Versailles

Seeing Apollo's statue at the Grand Canal of Versailles is one of the most inspiring moments. Apollo confidently commands his horses into action as he begins his ascent into the sky. May we all guide our own Sun chariot into the sky, so that we might truly shine!

Zodiac House

All over Europe, apartment buildings and public buildings often are decorated with the signs of the zodiac. In our busy world, it is easy to walk by and not notice. We enjoy building a catalog of all the images we gather. This is one example.
